We work with founders and businesses to turn valuable problems and ideas into working digital products, and we build products of our own.

Baselane is UK-based and works with founders and businesses in the UK and internationally.

We are typically most useful to founders and small-to-medium businesses with a valuable digital product problem or opportunity, particularly when the opportunity is clearer than the right answer.

Why Baselane exists

Less distance between thinking and doing.

Too often, the people defining the strategy are far from the people building the product.

The brief passes through layers. Context gets lost. Decisions slow down. A valuable opportunity becomes a long programme of activity.

Founded by Paul Finegan.

Paul is a product and commercial leader with close to two decades of experience across startups, scale-ups and international businesses.

His work has spanned new product development, growth, product strategy, operating models and the practical challenge of helping teams turn opportunities into delivered change.

Baselane is intended to become a capability and reputation in its own right, not a personal consultancy.

Paul remains closely involved in the work while bringing trusted collaborators around each opportunity.

Selective advisory / Focused engagements

Sometimes the right answer isn't a new build.

Baselane also takes on a small number of focused product leadership and advisory engagements.

These tend to involve an important product, growth or delivery problem where experienced judgement and practical intervention can materially change what happens next.

They are focused engagements with a clear purpose, not open-ended capacity.
